Production - DPS Pt.6

I have added the final little touches. I added the page number along with a website in the bottom corner. This will be present on all pages and add some uniformity to the pages. I have also added a by line next to the articles stating who created the images and wrote the article. This will be my FINAL VERSION.

Production - DPS Pt.5

I realised that I only had 3 images that I had taken in total on my magazine so I decided to add 2 photos of the same model in different clothing and a different situation. I have put them both at an angle and with a frame behind to give the impression that they have been stuck on the page.

Production - DPS Pt.4

I have now added a pull quote in a bold font and in white so it stands out over the black of the models clothes. This will attract the reader and make them want to read the article to put the quote into context. I have also put an enticement to make the consumer turn the page and read on in the magazine.

Production - DPS Pt.3

I have now added my text into the columns. I tried a variety of fonts and sizes and after research I decided on a very plain non stylised san serif font as it makes the article easier to read. I have also made the questions in the interview bigger and a different colour to make them stand out. I have used size 8 as this will be an A3 page so the text will be too big otherwise.

Production - DPS Pt.2

I have tried using a large box to encase my text or 3 smaller columns. I have decided on the 3 small columns as it can work around the car and doesn't cover as much of the image.I also think it looks much cleaner.

Production - DPS Pt.1

I have added a slightly scaled down version of my masthead along with a title for the article over my image which has had a fade filter applied to change the colours of the models clothes to be less vibrant and the colour of the car to gold which I feel adds great aesthetics to the image.

Production - Front cover Pt.9

I have added the artists name in very large text. I have done this as I found that most if not all magazines similar to mine do this to anchor the image and tell the consumer who the artist is. It has also made the cover look more full and less like it is half finished like before. This is likely to be my FINAL VERSION.

Production - Front cover Pt.8

I have added the price above the barcode and a 'Spotify' logo to act as an enticement with the promise of a discount code inside making people want to buy the magazine. To keep consistency I have put a box around this also.

Production - Front cover Pt.6

I realised that due to the background of my image having dark parts it makes the text very hard to read but I wanted to keep the background as I feel it works nicely with the genre and branding of the magazine. After lots of research I discovered XXL magazine solve this problem by surrounding text with blocks of colour so I have done this with white rectangles which I think works well and makes the text much clearer. I have also added a black box around the Exclusive interviews text for a similar reason

Production - Front cover Pt.5

I have now added a barcode along with a 'sticker' with a drop shadow advertising the magazines first awards. I have included a smaller version of the masthead on the sticker to continue the branding. I have positioned the barcode portrait as when i placed it landscape it didn't quite look right as it didn't follow the dimensions of the page.

Production - Front cover Pt.4

I have added more of my sidebars on the right side of the page. the font used for all of these is the same font but using a light version for the sub titles and a semi bold variant for the main title.

Production - Front cover Pt.3

I have started to add my side bars which tell the reader about the articles inside. I have also positioned the main article of the magazine in the centre to draw more attention and act as anchorage text to the image. I have also added an enticement in the form of the exclusive interviews banner. I have also put an issue and date line under the masthead.

Production - Front cover Pt.2

I have added my models head over the top of the masthead. By selecting it in photoshop and applying it over the top of the masthead as PNG file in inDesign. This makes the image easier to see and gives depth to the front cover. I feel this looks more professional and follows the convention of not having anything covering the face.

Production Front Cover Pt.1

I have first applied my chosen masthead over my chosen front cover image after putting a filter on the image and removing blemishes on the models face. I have used the character tools in inDesign to change the height and spacing of the characters.

Production - Image refinement

After taking all of my images I have used Photoshop and the pre-installed Apple editing software to correct the images, improve colors, crop, improve the skin of the models and superimpose items.

Research - Examiners Report

I have read the examiners report from the 2016 summer exams in order to gain a better understanding of what is expected and where other candidates have gone wrong and I can learn from their mistakes. There was examples of level 3 and 4 pieces of work and a number of pieces of advice explaining the downfalls that many candidates experienced. One example of this is they commented that the images used where not in different situations, the same model with the same clothing and the same location just a different pose. To ensure I don't encounter this problem I have asked my model to meet again to take more images of them wearing different clothing and go to a variety of locations.

Psychographic and Demographic

The Psychographic of my target audience would be E, D and C2. This is because of the nature of the music that is produced by the artists featured and the lexicon of words used through out I feel that people in C1, B and A would not have this vocabulary due to their high level of education that will have allowed them to get their occupation.

The Demographic of my target audience would be strugglers or explorers. This is due to them being generally younger target audiences and people with less income so can both relate to the humble roots of the genre of music and have similar situations to how many of the artists started.
