Things I have learnt from this:
- Media only became an academic subject that allowed you to gain a qualification in the 1960's.
- Post Modernism - there is nothing new in the media, everything has been done before
Media Theories:
- Textual Deconstruction
- Ideology
- Identity
- Creativity
- Audience
All of these can be used to help understand a piece of media and allow us to analyse it effectively.
- Media is the study of how people, media and society have a close relationship and are majorly affected by one another.
Discourses:
- Powerful Media
- Economic
- Literacy
- Demand for TV is in decline due to people being able to stream and watch exactly what programme they want on the internet and display it on a full size TV screen people no longer have as much of a need to have a 'black box'
