Media - The basics book - Chapter 2

5 Things I have learnt: 

- Mis-en-scene = Created through the use of costumes, props, sounds and the performance of the actor - a complete package.

- Genre + Is a category of media that can be identified by the conventions used.

- There are different types of signifiers:

    - Settings

    - Objects 

    - Costumes

    - Apperance 

    - Lighting

    - Sound
- Spectatorship = How we receive films is affected by our social and political background. 
-  Signifier = A real physical object. 
- Signified = The deeper meaning behind the object.
